Automated alert system: More ways to reach you

The City will take steps to support you when widespread power outages, heat waves or major snowstorms strike—but will we be able to contact you to let you know what we’re doing to help?

Have you already registered for the Code Red automated alert system? Don’t forget to add your cell phone number and e-mail address. In an emergency, some transmission media may be out of service, such as when there’s a power failure. By keeping all your contact information up to date, you’re more likely to be able to receive messages from the City.

Be the first to know

Whether it’s a boil water advisory, a power outage, an evacuation notice or any other urgent situation, we’ll keep you informed. The system will also inform you of general advisories such as postponed waste pick-ups, for example.

Haven’t registered yet? It couldn’t be simpler!

  • Fill in the online form with all your contact details. Make sure you allow text messaging.
  • Receive alerts by phone, text message or e-mail, depending on the contact details you enter.
  • Download the Code RED mobile app to find out which advisories are active in your area.

The system’s database already contains all active, non-confidential landline numbers in the Pointe-Claire area, as well as those entered using the online form.
