Québec’s National Holiday and Canada Day: outdoor festivities to bring people together

The City of Pointe-Claire invites its citizens to join together to celebrate Québec’s National Holiday and Canada Day on Monday, June 24 and July 1, respectively.

Alexandre-Bourgeau Park will be at the heart of the festivities, which will also take place in the streets of the Pointe-Claire Village, giving everyone the chance to experience these events with family, friends and neighbours.

The program is aimed at all ages, with a wide range of fun and imaginative activities for young and old alike.

Québec’s National Holiday: June 24, from 2 to 10:30 p.m.

Join us at 2 p.m. for this fun event with inflatables and face painting, along with reading tents and an art workshop with the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre for when you want an inspiring little break.

The Village swimming pool will open its doors free of charge from 2 to 6 p.m. for anyone who wants to cool off.

The park will come alive with roving entertainment, while the stage will feature acrobatic clowns, followed by a circus and magic show.

After the flag-raising and an evening concert, the celebrations will conclude with a fireworks display launched from a barge on Lake Saint-Louis.

In case of rain, activities will be moved indoors to the Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre.

Canada Day: July 1, from 2 to 10:30 p.m.

From swimming at the Village pool to inflatables in the Alexandre-Bourgeon Park, join in the festivities starting at 2 p.m.

Caricatures, face painting and a photo booth will be on hand.

An art workshop, organized by the Stewart Hall Cultural Center, and reading tents will allow you to enjoy a creative and relaxing moment.

Throughout the afternoon, strolling entertainment, concerts and musical performances will delight everyone in Pointe-Claire Village.

Between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., your local councillor will welcome you to discuss your ideas and questions. Come and meet them!

A fireworks display launched from a barge on Lake Saint-Louis will cap off the celebrations.
